RM Essentials is a small Canadian oil mill producing fresh, cold-pressed seed and nut oils in Vernon, British Columbia.
We carefully import selected seeds and nuts, not containers of finished oil. Then we press in small batches, monitor the temperature throughout production and bottle the oil ourselves.
No solvents. No unnecessary additives. No mystery about who made it.
Frank Deiter: Built on Experience
RM Essentials was founded by Frank Deiter, a German-born entrepreneur with decades of experience bringing European food-processing equipment and ideas to British Columbia.
Frank founded Okanagan Spirits in 2004 and became one of the early pioneers of modern craft distilling in BC. He later created the Mobile Juice Factory, a European-built mobile processing system that helped Okanagan growers turn overlooked fruit into fresh juice. The business was eventually featured on CBC’s Dragons’ Den.
RM Essentials grew from that same belief: good ingredients deserve careful processing, and more of that processing should happen here in Canada.
Frank brought professional German oil-pressing equipment to Vernon and began developing a Canadian source for genuinely fresh seed and nut oils. His experience with equipment, production and quality control continues to shape how we operate today.
His standard is straightforward: if we put our name on the bottle, we should know where the ingredients came from, how the oil was produced and exactly what went into it.
RM Essentials Today
Today, Levi Meyers manages the day-to-day operation of RM Essentials, including sourcing, production, product development, sales and marketing.
Every oil we produce is pressed in small batches using active cooling to keep the oil below 40°C. After pressing, it is allowed to settle naturally before being bottled in protective glass.
Some ingredients are grown in Canada, while others are sourced from regions known for producing them well. Wherever the ingredient comes from, the oil itself is made here by us.
We remain a small operation, and that is intentional. It allows us to track every production run, stay closely involved with every product and put a real person behind every bottle.
