The Story Behind Black Seed Oil
From Ancient Oil To Local Pressing
Black cumin (Nigella sativa) has been cultivated throughout history with many names: "habbatus sauda" in Arabic, "kalonji" in Hindi, "çörek otu" in Turkish. Each culture that enjoyed those tiny black seeds felt they had magical properties and cherished them.
We asked ourselves… Could we press these incredibly nutritious seeds with our modern European press and get a tasty, yet healthy oil?
You’ll find the answer in our bottles!
The Art and Science of Cold-Pressing
Preserving What Heat Destroys
Most oils on the market have been exposed to temperatures and ultraviolet light that fundamentally alter their benefits. They’re burnt, oxidized and unhealthy.
Our Method:
- Temperature: Never exceeding 40°C, cooler than summer day
- Pressure: Gentle and consistent, respecting the seed's integrity
- Result: Oil exactly as nature intended
Our process is slower. It's not the cheapest way. But it's the best way.

Understanding the Complexity
A Sensory Experience You Won’t Find Anywhere Else

Black seed oil isn’t mild at first taste, it’s unique. Our award-winning oil described:
First Impression: A bold, peppery entrance that awakens your taste buds
Mid-Note: Subtle bitter undertones similar to fresh oregano
Finish: A warming sensation with hints of toasted spice
Some say it smells a little like pizza, others say it has a scent that’s otherworldly or ancient. Either way, it’s that complexity that catches the attention of culinary fans, health enthusiasts and those with a love of Mediterranean foods.

The Nutritional Landscape
Nature's Complex Chemistry
Black seed oil naturally contains:
- Thymoquinone: The distinctive compound that gives the oil its character
- Essential Fatty Acids: Contributing to the oil's smooth, rich texture
- Volatile Compounds: Responsible for the aromatic complexity
These aren't additives, they're what makes authentic black seed oil remarkable. Our cold-press process ensures they remain intact and vibrant.
